DC Area/East Coast Therapist Training Event! Feb. 23 & 24, 2018

The International Professional Surrogates’ Association (IPSA) presents:

2018 East Coast Therapist Training

February 23-24th

Washington DC, located at The Viva Center in DuPont Circle

IPSA (the International Professional Surrogates’ Association) will be hosting a one-day, intensive workshop designed to introduce therapists to working with surrogate partners. A surrogate partner is a professional who, together with a therapist, helps clients overcome obstacles to physical and emotional intimacy through practical exercises, guidance, and relationship modeling.

In this workshop you will:

  • Be introduced to the theory, structure, and practice of Surrogate Partner Therapy
  • Learn what clients benefit from working with a surrogate partner
  • Experience some common techniques employed in Surrogate Partner Therapy
  • Address ethical and legal considerations when working with a surrogate partner
  • Meet local surrogate partners

Friday, February 23rd: Come meet our surrogate partners and IPSA president, Vena Blanchard, during our pre-workshop, informal social event, from 6-9pm.*

Saturday, February 24th: join us for an all-day, intensive workshop at the Viva Center from 9am-5pm, lead by IPSA president Vena Blanchard.*

* Wine & cheese provided during Friday’s evening’s gathering.  Snacks, water, tea, and lunch with a vegetarian/vegan option provided during Saturday’s workshop.

Who should attend:

  • Licensed therapists, counselors, and sex educators who are curious about Surrogate Partner Therapy
  • Therapists and counselors who have worked with surrogate partners, but are unfamiliar with IPSA’s professional standards and code of ethics
